We finished shooting a month and a half ago, but the film is far from finished, and there’s been a lot going on.
The biggest news is that we have hired an editor, and editing is underway. After meeting many talented candidates, Biljana and I selected Tara Autovino, a talented filmmaker who has written, directed and edited successful shorts, as well as an upcoming documentary feature. Tara recently received an M.A. from N.Y.U. film school, and now teaches editing at New York Film Academy. In addition to a strong resume, Tara brings a quirky style that will be perfect for this film.
We’re off to a strong start in the editing room, but we still have a long way to go. We hope to have a close-to-final cut in place by early February, and then move on to sound mixing and color correction to give the film a professional polish.
Once the film is finished, we’ll take a deep breath… and begin applying to film festivals, and trying to generate the kind of buzz around the film that will lead to a distribution deal.
In the meantime… check out the film’s Facebook page for occasional updates. And feel free to get in touch with me with questions.
talk soon,
Zack
P.S. Here’s a first look at a few stills from the film. Enjoy!
